I think it is amazing how your Greek friend was able to convert to Catholicism. I have a Greek friend and when I told her what your friend did, my friend told me she (my friend) would be disowned if she did anything like that!
Your friend is really an inspiration to the rest of us cradle Catholics.
My question is how does totally surrender to God really letting go? I know its all about faith but how do we build that and not have it shatter in our face the moment something goes wrong?
Please answer this-this is really important for my spiritual life.

Greek friend....I find it amazing too! I have a Greek friend who was threatened to be disowned by his family if he married his devout Catholic girlfriend. She wanted to raise their future children Catholic. He ended the engagement for fear of losing his family and family business. Whoa!
What FG's friend did is truly amazing! I have to say though the Catholic Faith is so incredibly beautiful and to know history is to be Catholic (the first Church started by Christ). I actually find it amazing when Protestants convert........There is great mis understanding and prejudice against Catholic theology. Amazing conversion, go Father G.!

This post is for anybody who has trouble really believing that the host and wine truly change into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. I am reading an awesome book called "Eucharistic Miracles" by Joan Carroll Cruz. The author writes about 36 Eucharistic miracles in church history where the hosts have turned into visible flesh and consecrated wine turning into visible blood! There are other miracles but you'll have to read the book and find out.

The book EUCHARISTIC MIRACLES is a must read for all Catholics. You will be amazed and once again believe in the true presense in the eucharist. All Cahtolics should read this book, many many miracles that people have never heard about.
